Listening to Mr. Cowen, he has taught me that you can make anything happen if you just believe. Mr. Cowen stayed on the topic of 3-D printers throughout his presentation and you could just tell he loved his job very much. I really hope that is how everyone thinks I feel when I give a presentation on my topic, Softball. He knew everything about technology and 3-D printers and it is just so interesting and fascinating that he knows so much on the topic. I plan on being able to do the same thing with my topic.
The author's interpretation: "Genius is not about scoring 1600 on the SAT, mastering fourteen languages at the age of seven, finishing Mensa exercises in record time, having an extraordinarily high I.Q., or even about being smart." They say that creativity is not the same as intelligence. A genius can be one person that is very creative and not smart at all, or smart and not creative. This lets me now that I do not have to be intelligent to do my project, all I really have to be is creative.
I learned that failure is okay. In the article it talks about how the students get to pick their own topic and learn about it. An example in this article was about a young kid wanted to write a novel and he said that he will wait 5 years to write it. No, that isn't how it works, if you wanna write a novel do not wait, do it right there. It talks about how the students get an hour out of the day to talk about and learn about themselves. They still do not have a lot of freedom in education right now so they are so happy that they learn about themselves for an hour out of the day.
I intend to accomplish skills and techniques of younger children's assets. Danielle, Abby, John and I are all in a group working together to improve their skills. We will be teaching them how to throw, catch, run bases along with batting. There will be three sessions that will take place. One session will be around December, another in February, and the last one in April. We will be charging each participant $5 for the clinic. All the money that is raised will be given to the Kingsford High School Softball Team.
